Method

This study is an analytical quasi-experimental study involving 40 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis. The participants were divided into two groups, namely the Saline Hypertonic solution group and the group of baby shampoo solutions. Symptoms were measured using the snot-20 questionnaire and visual analog scale (VAS) before and after nasal irrigation for 2 weeks. In addition, the time of mucociliar transport was also evaluated.

Results

The results of this study showed that the average snot-20 score in the hypertonic solution group had significant improvements (p = 0.01).
