On the other hand, the 0.2% gluconate chlorhexidine swab group produced 12.80 ± 3,155 cfu/ml, and the normal saline swab group 0.9% recorded 59.30 ± 23.262 CFU/ml. With a value of P = 0.001 in all groups, this result shows a significant difference, emphasizing that the provision of gluconate chlorhexidine with the rinse technique is more effective than the swab technique in reducing the number of bacterial colonies.

From the results obtained, it can be seen that rinsing with a 0.2% gluconate chlorhexidine solution shows higher effectiveness in reducing the number of bacteria in the mouth compared to the swab method.
