The Influence of Profitability, Firm Size, Business Risk, and Tangibility Assets on the Capital Structure in the Manufacturing Sector in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (2005-2008)

The manufacturing sector in Indonesia plays a vital role in the national economy, and understanding the company's capital structure is crucial to determine effective financial strategies. This study aims to analyze the effect of variables such as profitability, firm size, business risk, and asset tangibility on the capital structure in the manufacturing sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2005 to 2008.

Methodology and Analysis

The methodology used in this study is a multiple linear regression analysis conducted through SPSS 15 for Windows software. The results showed that simultaneously, all the variables studied had a significant influence on the capital structure in the manufacturing sector. However, when a partial testing is carried out, only profitability variables show the dominant effect on capital structure, while other variables such as firm size, business risk, and tangibility assets do not show significant impacts.
