Introduction

Rubber plants, or Hevea Brasiliensis, are one of the leading commodities in Indonesia, with a significant impact on the country's economy. Background

Rubber plants are a vital crop in Indonesia, with the country being one of the world's largest producers of natural rubber. The production of rubber plants is influenced by various factors, including climate, soil quality, and cultivation management. Research Methodology

This study used secondary data obtained from company administration, including latex production data and rainfall data and monthly rainy days from 2010 to 2012. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression methods and correlation analysis. Before further analysis, a classic assumption test was performed, including normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, and autocorrelation test, using SPSS version 17 software.

Research Results

The results of the regression analysis show that the rainfall variables and rainy days have no significant influence on the increase in latex production of rubber plants aged 6, 10, and 14 years at a significance level of 5% (P> 0.05). Nevertheless, the results of the classical assumption test show that the latex production data from the rubber plant meets the requirements for multiple regression analysis.

In addition, correlation analysis shows that the relationship between rainfall, rainy days, and latex production tend to be weak. The highest correlation value between rainfall and rainy day is 0.933 with a significance level of 0,000 (p <0.01), which shows that despite the link between the two variables, its effect on latex production remains insignificant.

Discussion

The results of this study indicate that although rainfall and the number of rainy days are important factors in the growth of rubber plants, both do not directly guarantee an increase in latex production. This can be caused by several other factors such as soil quality, cultivation management, and varieties of rubber plants themselves.

Climate change that results in rainfall fluctuations can also increase complexity in latex production. In some cases, extreme climatic conditions, both in the form of very heavy and drought rain, can damage plants and reduce productivity. Therefore, better management in the management of rubber plantations and monitoring of environmental factors needs to be done to maximize production results.

Conclusion

This study provides a deeper understanding of the factors that affect the production of rubber plants. By knowing that rainfall and rainy days do not have a significant effect, plantation managers can focus more on other aspects that have the potential to increase the productivity of rubber plants. The findings of this study can be used as a reference for future research on the impact of climate change on rubber plant production.
