This study aims to investigate the effect of these two factors on employee work performance at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Medan.

Data was collected using a Likert scale, which measures respondents' attitudes and perceptions on a scale of 1 to 5. Multiple regression techniques were used to analyze the data and test two existing hypotheses.

Results

The results of this study showed that simultaneously, both the work environment and work motivation had a very significant influence on employee work performance at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Medan. When analyzed partially, work motivation was found to be a dominant factor that affects work performance compared to the work environment. This suggests that employees' internal drives and incentives play a more significant role in determining their work performance than the physical and social conditions in which they work.

The findings of this study have important implications for PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Medan and other organizations seeking to improve employee work performance. The results suggest that companies should prioritize the development of the work environment and increase employee motivation to achieve optimal work performance. This can be achieved through various means, including improving infrastructure, enhancing existing facilities, and creating a more conducive working atmosphere.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this study provides evidence that both the work environment and work motivation have a positive and significant influence on work performance at PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Medan. The findings also highlight the importance of facilities and infrastructure as part of the work environment in affecting employee comfort and effectiveness. Therefore, companies are expected to pay more attention to the development of the work environment and increase employee motivation to achieve optimal work performance.

Recommendations

Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations are made for PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) Medan:

Improve infrastructure: The company should invest in improving its infrastructure, including the construction of new buildings, renovation of existing facilities, and enhancement of parking areas.
