Introduction

This study aims to analyze the effect of these macroeconomic factors on the return of mutual funds in Indonesia.

This can be understood because when interest rates rise, investment in mutual funds becomes less attractive because the return offered by mutual funds tends to be lower than the return of deposits or other investment instruments with higher interest rates.

On the other hand, CSPI has a significant positive influence on mutual fund returns. Increased CSPI marks positive growth in the stock market, which directly has a positive impact on the value of stock mutual fund portfolios and increases returns for investors.

Inflation has a significant negative effect on mutual fund returns in the long run, whereas in the short term the effect is not significant and tends to be positive. This shows that investors tend to avoid investment in mutual funds in the long run when the inflation rate is high. High inflation can cause a decrease in purchasing power and make investment returns in mutual funds less attractive.

The exchange rate has a significant negative effect on mutual fund returns both in the long and short term. This is because when the value of the rupiah weakens against foreign currencies, the value of assets invested in mutual funds based on foreign currencies will decrease and return investors also affected.

Conclusion

This study shows that macroeconomic factors such as interest rates, JCI, inflation, and exchange rates have a significant influence on mutual fund investors in Indonesia. Mutual fund investors need to pay attention to the movement of these factors to optimize their investment strategy.

It is also important to remember that the results of this study only apply to the periods and models used in the study. The movement of macroeconomic factors is dynamic and can change over time, so it is necessary to do further analysis to understand its effect on mutual fund returns in different periods.
