Effect of Giving Red Spinach Flour (Amaranthus Tricolor) and Corn Flour (Zea mays) to the Feed on the Growth and Color Quality of the Goldfish Fish (Carassius auratus)

Introduction

The goldfish, with its round body shape and bright colors, has always been a favorite in the aquarium world. To maintain the brightness of the favorite color of the favorite fish, ornamental fish lovers often provide additional feed that is rich in natural dyes. One of these efforts is to add red spinach flour and corn flour to the goldfish feed. This study examines the effect of giving red spinach flour and corn flour on the growth and color quality of goldfish.

Methodology

The method used in this study is a complete random design (RAL) with three treatments and one control, which is repeated three times. The three treatments are:

*** PB treatment: ** The addition of 3% red spinach flour into the feed. *** Treatment of PJ: ** The addition of 3% corn flour into the feed. *** PC treatment: ** The addition of 1.5% red spinach flour and 1.5% corn flour into the feed.

This study lasted for 42 days, with a focus on several important parameters, such as fish feed conversion, weight gain, body length increase, fish life, fish color increase, and water quality.

Results

The result of this study shows that giving red spinach flour and corn flour has a significant effect on improving the color of the color of the goldfish. Treatment of PB (the addition of 3% red spinach flour) shows the largest increase in fish color, reaching 63.33%. This is much higher than the control (K) which only reaches 16.67%.
